Overview
Sovereign Voice is a desktop application that runs entirely on your Mac. Your
voice data, text inputs, and generated audio never leave your device unless you
explicitly choose to use cloud synthesis features.
Data We Collect
Local-Only Data (Never Sent to Servers)
- Text inputs: The text you type for voice synthesis is processed locally.
- Voice profiles: Your custom voice profiles and reference audio are stored
on your Mac in ~/Library/Application Support/Sovereign Voice/.
- Generated audio: Synthesized audio files are saved to your local disk.
- Settings: Your preferences (language, compute mode, telemetry opt-in) are
stored in your browser's localStorage.
Optional Cloud Data
If you enable Cloud Compute mode:
- Text inputs are sent to our hosted synthesis endpoint for processing.
- Audio is returned to your device and not stored on our servers.
- Your API key is sent with each request for authentication.
Telemetry (Opt-In)
If you enable telemetry in Settings:
- Anonymous usage events: Feature usage counts, error counts, latency
percentiles. No text content, no audio, no voice profiles.
- Crash reports: Stack traces and system info (macOS version, chip type).
No voice data or text content.
- Telemetry is disabled by default. You must explicitly opt in.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your voice recordings or reference audio (unless you upload to cloud)
- The text you synthesize
- Your generated audio files
- Your browsing history
- Your contacts or location
Data Storage
- Local data: Stored in
~/Library/Application Support/Sovereign Voice/.
You can delete this directory at any time to erase all local data.
- Cloud data: If using cloud mode, text is processed in-memory and not
persisted. No audio is stored server-side.
- Telemetry: Stored in an aggregated JSONL log, rotated weekly.
Third-Party Services
- Apple notarization: Used for app distribution. Apple receives your app
bundle during the notarization process (developer-side, not user-side).
- GitHub: Used for code hosting and issue tracking. Public only.
Your Rights
- Access: You can view all local data in the app's Settings → Weights Path.
- Deletion: Delete
~/Library/Application Support/Sovereign Voice/ to erase
all local data. Use Settings → Clear Cache for a guided option.
- Export: Use Settings → Export Profile to create a
.sovereignprofile
archive of your voice data.
- Consent management: Voice profiles include consent records. You can view
and manage consent status in the app. Third-party voice profiles require
explicit consent tokens.
- Opt-out: Disable telemetry in Settings at any time.
Children's Privacy
Sovereign Voice is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly
collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy if our data practices change. Updates will be
posted in the app and on our website.
