Terms of Service — Sovereign Voice

Last updated: 2026-08-12 — Boilerplate draft, not lawyer-reviewed. Consult an attorney before commercial deployment.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Sovereign Voice ("the App"), you agree to

these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the

App. These Terms form a binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and the

operator identified below.

2. Parties

The App is operated and distributed by Lokesh Kumar Garg, an individual

residing in India. The operator is not a registered legal entity — there is

no company, LLC, or corporation behind this product at this time. Accordingly,

these Terms are entered into directly with the operator as a natural person, and

any references to "the operator" mean Lokesh Kumar Garg personally. This is

disclosed honestly so that Users understand the legal standing of the party they

are contracting with.

3. The Product

Sovereign Voice is local-first text-to-speech ("TTS") software for macOS that

runs on Apple Silicon. The App performs speech synthesis on-device using the

Qwen3-TTS model (licensed under Apache-2.0). The App does not require an

internet connection to perform synthesis, and voice data is not transmitted to

any server (see Section 8, Privacy). The App is distributed as a one-time

purchase.

4. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and your payment of the license fee

(Section 5), the operator grants you a **non-exclusive, non-transferable,

revocable** license to install and run the App on a Mac that you own or control,

for your personal or internal business use. You may not:

that applicable law expressly prohibits such restrictions

The Qwen3-TTS model bundled with the App is distributed under the Apache-2.0

license; nothing in these Terms restricts rights granted to you under that

license with respect to the model itself.

5. Payment and Refund

sold separately; bug fixes and minor updates to the version you purchased are

provided at no additional charge.

contacting hi@eidetic.works with your order reference. Refunds are processed

to the original payment method. Upon refund, your license is revoked and you

must stop using the App and delete it from your devices.

6. Acceptable Use

**This section is critical and forms a core part of the liability framework

between you and the operator.** By using the App, you agree to the Acceptable

Use Policy, which is incorporated by reference and available at

docs/legal/acceptable_use_policy.md. In summary, you must NOT:

person

AI-generated content, including labelling, disclosure, and synthetic media laws

You are solely responsible for all content you generate using the App, including

its legality, accuracy, and consequences. The operator does not review, approve,

or have access to your generated content, and **is not liable for user-generated

content** in any respect. See Sections 9 and 10.

7. Voice Cloning Consent

When you use the App to synthesize speech based on a real person's voice, you

are responsible for obtaining that person's consent where required by law. The

operator provides no mechanism to verify such consent and accepts no liability

for your failure to obtain it.

8. Privacy

Sovereign Voice is local-first. All TTS processing occurs on your Mac. Your

text inputs, voice references, and generated audio are not transmitted to the

operator or any third party as part of synthesis.

Opt-in telemetry: The App may send an anonymous, opt-in usage ping to help

the operator understand aggregate usage patterns. This ping contains only

anonymous usage statistics (e.g., feature usage counts, app version, locale) and

never includes your text, voice data, or generated audio. Telemetry is

disabled by default and can be turned off at any time in the App's settings.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY

KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the

operator disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

You bear all risk arising from your use of the App and any content it generates.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the

operator be liable for any **indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or

punitive damages**, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or

related to your use of (or inability to use) the App, **even if the operator has

been advised of the possibility of such damages**.

To the extent permitted by law, the operator's total aggregate liability

arising out of these Terms or your use of the App shall be limited to the

amount you paid for the App (i.e., USD $19.00). This limitation applies

notwithstanding any failure of essential purpose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or

limited under applicable law (for example, liability for gross negligence or

willful misconduct in jurisdictions where such exclusion is void).

11. User-Generated Content

The operator has no ability to monitor, review, or control the content you

generate with the App because all processing occurs locally on your device. You

acknowledge and agree that the operator is a passive software provider and

not a publisher or speaker of your generated content. The operator is not liable

for any content you create, publish, or distribute using the App.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator from any claims, damages,

losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of

the App or your violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, including

any claim arising from content you generated.

13. Termination

The operator may revoke your license and terminate these Terms immediately if you

violate the Acceptable Use Policy or any other term. Upon termination, you must

stop using the App and delete all copies. Sections 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14 survive

termination.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Governing law: India (the operator's jurisdiction).

> TODO for operator: Confirm governing law. The operator is an individual

> resident in India, but Users may be global. Consider whether a different

> jurisdiction, a choice-of-law clause, or a mandatory arbitration clause is

> more appropriate for your target market. Consult an attorney.

Any dispute arising out of these Terms shall, in the first instance, be

attempted to be resolved by good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30

days, the dispute shall be resolved in the courts of India, subject to the

operator's confirmation above.

15. Changes to These Terms

The operator may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be

reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App

after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining

provisions remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Acceptable Use Policy, constitute the entire

agreement between you and the operator regarding the App and supersede all prior

or contemporaneous understandings.
